The Parish has benefitted from grants from the National Churches Trust so we are particularly glad to join in its thanks to Her Majesty!
The boys and men of Chingford Parish Church have recorded "The Lord is My Shepherd (Psalm 23)" by Howard Goodall. Famous as the theme to the BBC TV series The Vicar of Dibley, the solo is sung by James Shaw, the organist is Felix Pethue. Directed by Michael Emerson, and mixed and edited by Luke Kerr, the recording shows the depth of skill and heights of achievement of our parish musicians. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TesJwE21vpE
We were very excited to be the location for a training session by local Drone Survey company S4G Drone Services. Mark Elliott and his team expertly flew all over the Parish Church, liaising with local residents and the police, and took some amazing videos of the building ~ from a point of view that only the Chingford parakeets have previously enjoyed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGHXjKG7UF8 (we can see here very clearly work that will need to be done on the tower this year...) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsW24Sm6ry0 Mark is even able

On Sunday, 6 February, the 70th anniversary of the accession of Her Majesty to the throne, we celebrated with a special Evensong at the Parish Church. The special Accession responses were sung to a setting by Dr Francis Jackson, who died earlier this year, along with his setting in G of the canticles. Howard Goodall's setting of Psalm 23 was a fitting anthem for the occasion.
On Saturday, 5 February, we resumed our monthly Walsingham Cell Eucharists in Chingford Parish, when we pray for the work and witness of Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham. In our prayers we honour Mary, the Mother of God, and so deepen our faith in the Incarnation of Our Lord; deepen our devotion to Our Lady and witness to the rewards of pilgrimage to Walsingham; further, with the aid of Our Lady's prayers, the conversion of England, and all nations and the re-union of Christendom; seek holiness of life through prayer,

Fully Human, Fully Alive - the Parish of Chingford Education programme St Irenaeus, Bishop of Lyons and a pupil of a pupil of the Apostle John, once wrote: “the greatest glory of God is a human being fully alive.” One of the ways we can become fully alive in God is understanding what God requires of us in our lives as individuals, and our lives with others. In other words, God asks us to reflect prayerfully, in the company of others, on what it means to be a human being, and
Avoiding Scam Emails Some members of the parish may have received a scam email today or recently purporting to come from the Rector, and asking for assistance in buying online gift cards to be reimbursed later. THIS IS A SCAM. You can know that it is a scam by three things: The email doesn’t come from the Rector of Chingford email address but from a randomly generated email address. Check the address after the name, which might spoof my own. If it isn't the Rector's email address, it isn't from me.The
